Old School Graphic Designer
with 32 Years experience.
I have worked primarily in London, all over the UK and New York. I specialise in branding, and love all things colour, typography and cutting things out.
Then
-
I went to a one computer art college, was taught to sharpen pencils with a 10a blade and hand render type on a grant enlarger. I loved and hated Letraset - I could never get it to line up. I loved the smell of the dark room but felt a total imposter as I could never get my head around operating any of the equipment. I was petrified but also obsessed with colour and my ideas on paper were small and lacked confidence.
But I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a graphic designer.
Now
-
I’ve been working in the industry for over 32 years. (A gap in the middle to bring up two children - still doing that) I have predominately worked in large agencies alongside copywriters and photographers for many types of clients. Often part of a larger team of art directors and designers on pitch work and long running campaigns. I have also worked independently with clients that needed a more ‘quieter’ approach.
I am currently diving back into the freelance pool with my bag of prints and cards to sell.
I still have an obsession with colour and all things design. I am still learning and I’m still sharpening my pencils with 10a blades.
